While I found Dr. Kleinfelter to be very personable and polite, I did not get a single bit of relief from the NUCCA form of chiropractic medicine she practices. NUCCA is a form of adjustment based on making extremely small (to me they felt so small as to be almost non-existent) adjustments to the upper cervical region of the body.
Dr. Kleinfelter was a really, really nice person and took plenty of time to explain to me what her practice was about, and that she doesn't practice traditional chiropractic treatment. I wish this NUCCA method DID work for me, because I would've been more than happy to continue receiving treatment from her.
The method she uses, NUCCA, is under intense scrutiny by many traditional chiropractic practitioners, and it's thought of, in some circles,as a complete scam. Other circles however, give NUCCA tremendous accolades and praise. I'm NOT saying that I think it's a scam, I just am putting this out there. I urge people who are considering to try NUCCA out to please educate yourself on both the pros and cons of this form of chiropractic adjustment. It's VERY, VERY different from what your preconceived notions of chiropractic medicine probably are.
From Wikipedia: NUCCA focuses on the upper vertebrae in the neck and claims to correct misalignment of the upper spine. The method uses double-pivot-point X-ray analysis, the "development of the triceps pull manual adjustment" and "design and development of the Anatometer posture distortion measuring instrument". The NUCCA method has been subjected to very little peer review. Unlike other chiropractic techniques, NUCCA does not use manual adjustments and does not involve twisting or popping.
In my treatments, Dr. Kleinfelter took x-rays and some measurements of my leg length to check for unevenness which could lead to poor cervical alignment. She then proceeded to VERY GENTLY touch me in areas around my jawline and the upper neck/base of the skull area. That's all. Her extremely light touches in those areas were supposed to somehow re-align my cervical vertebrae... I'm talking touches so light as to be almost a caress or faint brushing of the fingertips along my skin. These "micro-adjustments" might work wonders for some people, but for me (an admitted skeptic) they did absolutely zero. I also have to add here that I've been to the other kind of bone-popping, spine-twisting, crackity crack crack kind of chiropractors with my same natural skepticism, and only found minor, temporary relief from those treatments. Maybe I'm just not a good candidate or patient of chiropractic doctors.
Whatever the case, I'm giving her practice 3 stars because she's a great doctor who takes time to talk to and educate her patients on how to be healthy in all facets of life like diet, exercise, etc... The 2 stars I'm not giving are because I didn't see any benefits from these treatments at all. I gave it 12 months and 15 office visits, almost all visits included some sort of adjustment. I didn't just do a one and done kinda thing. I gave it time to try and work, but for me, it didn't. I hope people in pain find relief, be it from NUCCA treatments, surgery, traditional chiropractic methods, whatever. Please do some independent research before any method you choose however.

I was used to outstanding chiropractic care, but moving to Illinois was a shocker. After 5 years of trying chiropractors, I finally decided to try NUCCA which is a precise form of chiropractic. I went to First Place and was examined to ensure I would benefit from NUCCA, X-rayed, and then a very gentle and precise adjustment. This has changed my life! My entire body is healing in many ways I never thought possible. The constantly needed adjustments from past injuries are no longer necessary. I have much better posture, no pain, no numbness or tingling in my hands, no headaches, no backache, no nothing. And, as a flight attendant, my body takes a pretty good beating, so I required 3 re-adjustments in the first 4 months, but no re-adjustments over the last 3-4 months. NUCCA is the one chiropractic everyone should try before drugs and surgery, specially if you have ever suffered any type of trauma to the back, neck, or head.

I was referred to Dr. Orsini when I made my first appointment. He has a great professional manner that made me comfortable divulging my ailments [as I've developed a lot of them recently that I thought was due to stress].
Dr. Orsini is not just a doctor that is there to just fix you up. He has extensive knowledge with treatment options and supplemental tips for patients to keep in alignment. I believe that he is genuinely interested in helping me and my body be the best it can possibly be. He was quick to come up with a solution, take X-rays, and get me in alignment and stay there. I've come back regularly to make sure I'm holding and he has been more than helpful in answering all of my questions that come up.
In short, Dr. Orsini has wowed me with his knowledge and enthusiasm with alternative health and chiropractic. My pain, dizziness, and sleeping problems have improved ten fold since coming here. I've never met Dr. K, but I'm super impressed with the young talent she hired here. I'll keep coming back and referring people for sure!

I m a nurse, and have had chronic migraines since I was 12 year old and occipital neuralgia for the past 4 years. My migraines would dictate my life and control what I could and could not do. Some days I would be running at 50% being able to go to work but not do my best. Others I was running on fumes and not able to do anything but stay in bed, in a dark room, with ice. When my occipital neuralgia was flared with a migraine, it felt like an icepick was being stabbed into the side of my head repeatedly. Graphic, I know, but it is the horrible truth. My migraines were affecting my job, my graduate school classes, and my social life. I had more bad days than good ones.
I ve exhausted all the different pharmacological (medication) treatments in treating and preventing migraines with little luck. I ve tried a boat load of different devices, nerve stimulators, essential oils, different pillows, you name it, I tried it if it promised headache and migraine relief. I was referred by my Neurologist to see Dr Kleinfelter, who she had heard of through another patient, and she said to give it a shot.
As a nurse I was VERY skeptical of NUCCA treatment. I had the attitude of, How is making sure my spine is aligned going to cure something I ve had for 19 years of my life? I gave it a shot because nothing else seemed to work, worse case scenario, I could at least say I gave it a shot.
My consultation showed that I was misaligned, the X-rays confirmed it. A week later I received my first alignment. After my alignment, I felt fine, didn t notice a difference. Left the office feeling like nothing changed and that I probably wasted money. That same night, I had the worst migraine I had in a LONG time (and that s saying something). Everything I did made my head feel like it was going to explode. After a few days of having a horrible migraine, I woke up and felt well rested, and energized. I have not woke up feeling well rested in years! I always felt tired no matter how much or how little I slept.
Fast forward three months, and here we are. My migraines have dramatically decreased, my occipital neuralgia is almost nonexistent. NUCCA has changed my life. I know when I m out of alignment now, things just feel off, and if I do not correct it, headaches start occurring more and my nerve pain ramps up. I have a quality of life back. I m better rested, in less pain, and only using Botox and Ajovy to control my migraines. A big change considering I used to take up to 8 different medications a day to try and keep them under control, with little relief being provided.
I went from a skeptical nonbeliever to someone who would recommend this to anyone that is experiencing pain, chronic fatigue, and just a sense of feeling off. The worse that can happen is you can go in for a consultation to find out you re not exhibiting symptoms of a upper cervical misalignment. On the other hand, you could be told that you are, get treated, and change your health and overall wellbeing!

This is hands down the most gentle Chiropractor I have ever been to! I have been getting adjustments since the age of 12 and have had many different techniques used to fix my subluxations.
I drive approximately 40 minutes past other chiropractors in my area to get to Dr. Kleinfelter's office in St. Charles. I do this because she has done wonders for my aches and pains. Dr. Kleinfelter does a technique that chiropractors in my area do not. It is upper cervical adjustment or adjustment of the atlas also known as C1. At first I was skeptical that such painless quick adjustment would work for me....but not anymore!! When I am out of alignment I have headaches, swelling in my lymph nodes, my allergies act up and I have knee pain and this one adjustment that Dr. Kleinfelter does fixes all four ailments. Another bonus is that after she fixes me...I sleep like a rock.

I first became introduced to NUCCA chiropractic about 8 years ago.
A NUCCA Chiropractor came to our bike club meeting & I was first
introduced to a NUCCA Chiropractor for my first treatment 8 years ago. After about 7 weeks of treatment twice a week, I started going every 6 months. Then I was going for treatments 6 months to 1 year.
When I go in for an adjustment it usually lasts from 6 months to
a year. I have had great results. Dr Kleinfelter doesn't twist or
turn your body for the adjustment. I really don't feel anything
when I get the adjustment, but I sure feel better afterwards.
So helpful for many ailments. Professional and great patient care. Highly recommend!

My sister first told me about NUCCA chiropractic after she started seeing a practitioner in the St. Louis area. She had a host of problems ranging from allergies to Meniere's disease. I was amazed at how it had helped her. About a year later, I was experiencing numbness going down my right arm from a pinched nerve in my neck. It was progressively getting worse. I had experienced this several years prior and received cortisone shots for it. I was concerned that my cervical spine was deteriorating (old injuries) and that I would most likely have to have surgery. I decided to try NUCCA based on my sisters success. I found First Place Chiropractic on the internet and made an appointment. On my first visit, X-rays were taken and other diagnostic tests performed. My spine was out of alignment, they outlined a treatment plan and I accepted. It was the best decision I made for myself. I had one adjustment, and days later the numbness was completely gone. I was able to get back out on the tennis courts and play again! I thought that I would never be able to do that again. The NUCCA technique is unlike other methods of chiropractic in that they only adjust the atlas bone at the base of the brain stem. You barely feel their touch when they adjust you. I encourage everybody to research NUCCA and give it a try before resorting to more invasive procedures and temporary fixes. I am so thankful to the wonderful Doctors and staff at First Place Chiropractic for their caring attitude and expertise with their patients.
Dr. Kleinfelter and Dr. Grover are fantastic! I was always scared of chiropractic because I've had traumatic injuries in the past, and was told I would never gain strength back in my legs, but continually get worse. I have gained back strength previous dr's never thought possible, and all with such a GENTLE adjustment!
As a massage therapist, I understand the mechanics of the body. I was experience chronic tingling and numbness in my hands. I tried several other chiropractors, massage therapy and physical therapy and was not finding relief. Because I had these symptoms for 3 years, it took several months for it to completely diminish, but I could feel relief, and improvement that I did not feel with the other therapies. In addition, because I am in alignment and my body is more balanced, I have no knee discomfort and no low back pain. I have received all types of Chiropractic and Acupuncture over the years. NUCCA made sense but it was hard for me to understand that there was no cracking and popping to adjust me! After my first appointment , It really was unreal how my posture was off in my hips, shoulders and neck. It really explained all of the pain I had been experiencing over the years that I attributed to "getting older".What I like the most about 1st Place is there goal is to have you hold your adjustment and that you can see the success in the post- treatment XRAY. I am 2 weeks post adjustment and have held my adjustment. My sleep is better, my pain is 90% gone in my lower back.
