Decently busy night, seemed extremely understaffed. Waited a few minutes to be seated, was told to grab a table, the waitress we talked to had menus and never said a word and never came to the table to follow up. Waited 10 minutes and watched about 3 different waiters service tables next to us and never even once acknowledged us and our empty table. Terrible experience.

Good place on the Avenue in Hampden if you are into wine, cocktails and light fare. There are legitimate meal options on the menu, but it is best to stick to appetizers and smaller plates. A bit more upscale than some other places in the vicinity. As such, prices for everything are somewhat elevated. However there is a good lounge atmosphere, which serves a purpose for drinks and conversation with friends.

The French Delice cheese had me seeing stars. Not a wide variety of food, but the vibe is very much snack, drink, chat, not enjoy a four course mean. The lighting is ideal for dates and intimate conversations. There is a lot of wine. Like, a lot.

This is a nice wine bar. I went in and had three items - a cheese plate, the charcuterie and a pizza, with some pinot grigio. Everything was excellent, the service was wonderful, the ambiance is great, and the wine selection is to be envied. I just felt it was...a little overpriced.

Would I go back? Sure, maybe. But only for some wine, I wouldn't eat there again. The good is awesome, again, just overpriced.

Great place, great wine, too rich for me.

Cute wine bar in Hamden with amazing wine centered cocktails. Services was quick, friendly and high tech! They had an extensive selections of wines by the glass and small bites. I will definitely be back.

The food here is delicious and they have excellent customer service. There is a bar area and a dinning area, which gives the option of getting a drink or dining with friends. There is a lot of wine selection from all over the globe, the atmosphere feels very welcoming. The only downside is the space in the dining area, it's a small area and can sometimes feel a bit crowded.

Staff is friendly. Cheese and meat plates are delicious. Other food is pretty good. Nice beer and wine selection. Good mixed drinks. 4 stars instead of 5 because they are frequently out of things on the menu. Overall I love this place and go there very frequently.

Love, love, love.

Love, love, love.
Oh and they have great wine too...

All told, it was probably the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant, and the food was far below average for the price.

My girlfriend and I were on our way to Grano Pasta Bar for a date on Saturday evening, but stopped at 13.5% because the food looked good and the atmosphere enticing. We were seated immediately, despite it being a busy Saturday evening. That was by far the best part of our experience.

The server came by after a long wait, asked to take our drink order, and asked if we had any questions about the menu. My girlfriend asked a question about the squid pasta, and the waiter literally took her menu and read the description back to her. My girlfriend then asked about the "fish of the day." The server told her it was rockfish; when we asked which species (there are over 80 different species which can taste very different), the server responded snootily, "Rockfish *is* the species." Not wanting to make waves, my girlfriend ordered the squid pasta. It was the worst pasta she's had in a long time.

When I ordered the burger, the waiter asked how I wanted it cooked. I asked if their "rare" had a cold or a warm center. The waiter said "Well, I don't eat my meat rare, but it's however 'rare' usually is." I ordered it rare; it came out medium. At least, the parmesan fries were decent.

We waited an extraordinarily long time for the food while tables that were seated and ordered after us were served. After we finished our appetizers, the waiter cleared our silverware and then came by to offer us a look at the desert menu...before we received our entrees. She said she didn't realize we hadn't been served yet, as if that was a reasonable excuse.

While waiting for our food to arrive, we observed a party of two well-dressed older couples arrive only to be told that the restaurant had no record of their reservation. The party was respectful and polite, but left after speaking with the manager because the restaurant refused to make any special accommodations. And as we were leaving, a lady at the table next to us had an allergic reaction to a food that she specifically told the waiter they needed to avoid. We paid and walked out as the lady's husband ran out to their car for an epi pen.

The servers were AWESOME! They gave the most wonderful recommendations! My friend and I shared the lamb, Seafood Celebration, and Tuscan Kale Salad which were all AMAZING!!! The drinks were AWESOME too!!!

It's a mixed bag for me. When I first visited about four years ago, I was blown away by the ambiance, atmosphere and wine. The menu was rather limited but the duck confit tacos made up for that with the uniqueness and quality. A little on the pricey side for what was served but, not bad. I could deal with it. I returned twice more within a year of the first visit.

The avenue being what it is, (a parking nightmare) I didn't visit again for over a year and a half. On that visit the duck confit was gone from the menu, but the braised chicken leg was as good as you'll find anywhere. My date (a real foodie) raved about it and I scored major brownie points for that. Our waitress that night was outstanding and again, aside from the slightly pricey menu items, it was a quite pleasant evening. (For the sake of clarification, the prices aren't bad, but I believe it was overpriced for the portions served.)

I returned last night (Aug 6th) and was wholly disappointed with the service. My disappointment stems primarily from the fact that my previous experiences were so good, and the service on this night was so incredibly bad. Our waitress was less than exuberant and seemed like she was riding a serious buzz. All questions about the menu were answered as if we were inattentive third-graders and annoying her. She rarely looked at our faces as she answered our questions, with her glazed-over eyes facing the ceiling as if she were trying to remember the lines from her script. The menu had changed again and four of the meat entrees included pork. So if you're Jewish or Muslim, you'll probably want to stick to the vegetarian and seafood items on the menu. I finally used a $35 Groupon deal which allowed for the choice of two plates plus a bottle of house wine. My date had the Pizza Marguerita (about $12) while I opted for the Snail French Bread pizza (about $15) with a bottle of white wine. We both enjoyed our entrees and the total tab was just under $70. Think about that for a minute. One large slice of pizza, one French bread pizza and a bottle of wine for $70. After accounting for the Groupon deal my tab was $3 plus a $14 (20%) gratuity. (The service in no way deserved a 20% gratuity, but since my people have a well-earned rep for under-tipping, I always feel compelled to overcompensate with the gratuity.) Think about how you might feel about that if you were not using a Groupon deal.

I can appreciate the fact that the kitchen tries to mix it up and keep things fresh and new. But if you have a bona-fide crowd pleaser, you should never permanently abandon it. You don't have to keep the tacos and the braised chicken on the menu year-round, but at a minimum, they should be in the regular rotation.

The hostess was pleasant, courteous and accommodating. None of those terms applied to our server/waitress. We both felt that she was absolutely sub-par.

So the overall rating is a mixed bag. The food was good, but a little pricey for the course. The hostess was nice, but the waitress was substantially less so. Depends on what's important to you.

We went to see Mickey Coviello & The Herd Brothers play. The staff was really nice and the wine selection was great. I got a Pinot Noir Flight (Pulp Noir) and it was delicious. Afterwards, I got two recommendations from our server and they were exactly what I was looking for. She also did her best to keep our checks separate, but we had a large group. She gave us ample time to figure out what was left.

For one I d like to apologize for the first time I came here... the experience was so stellar and I didn t leave a review then,.. but moving forward I must say THIS PLACE IS ASTOUNDING! The ambiance is refine, chic, yet grounding and fun. The menu is diverse and perfect for pairing while not being out of touch in prices, nor portion sizes. The steps taken fourth in their reopening to assure safety and hygiene are organized and efficient (server wearing gloves that they are rotating, temperature checks, adequate placement and social distancing, etc). I d like to give a special shoutout to Charlotte, Sophia, and AJ. AJ gave some recommendations on wine selections that were too perfect, and also helped a lot on the phone call prior to arriving for dinner, Charlotte was an incredibly patient server who was attentive, but not overbearing, and Sophia was a lovely addition who was always coming over to the table in phenomenal representation of teamwork (pre-busing, ensuring quality service, etc) which was icing on the cake. I had an incredible time here and may find myself being a regular over time. This place is ideal for a date night or small gathering!

Great atmosphere, servers that are attentive without hovering. Excellent food. Would be really nice if they embellished their cheese board and charcuterie with olives, grapes, relish or some other addition.

Great space yet the owner needs customer service training! I walked in with a friend and he rapidly walked up to us to inform us the space was reserved without a greeting or welcoming us into the space as we were meeting our other colleagues.

Otherwise, food and vibe is good. Brussel sprouts are BOMB! Great music. Great drinks. Not many options for gluten intolerant individuals.

If I could rate no stars I would. I went here yesterday for a number of reasons. 1. Because I have gone here before and had an amazing time. 2. I planned on using the establishment for my mothers birthday party(which will not happen). By far last night was the most negative experience ever. I feel like myself and sister in law were prejudged and treated as such. We were ignored the entire time and had to signal one of the owners attention to take our order. None of the other staff acknowledged us. It made me extremely uncomfortable. When the owner came to our table, we told the gentleman no one has come over to us and he said he would have to let some people go and he was disappointed . I never saw him address the staff once about ignoring us as no staff member came to the table. While I ordered he said he didn t hear me and was thinking about his problems, and not what I said. We decided to pay for our wine flights, I also was sure to tip despite the level of service I received and take our business elsewhere. I was prepared to spend in this establishment however I feel like based on how we looked, it was assumed that we wouldn t be customers of value. It disappointed me the owner was fake disappointed and nonchalant when I respectfully explained that our experience was terrible. I certainly have a feeling that he could care less. I really loved this place, and it s a shame I will not be able to go back. I cannot go to establishments that do no value my dollar as they do others.

First time here...walked in on a Thursday night. Sat at the bar and instantly felt the vibe. Had some 80s/90s RnB playing. Really beautiful stone lines the back wall, place has a couple of different tables and nooks to sit in. Very relaxing and chill. Ordered a wine flight and an Irish coffee and who I assume is the owner was kind enough to put the Jameo and Bailey's on the side! Definitely will come back again!

It was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant...our food came out before we even received water or beverage! So of course the food wasn't hot at all! And to top it off wifi wasn't working and we weren't advised in advance. I don't carry cash so management ask for credit card I info and stated they will email receipt! Like I could go on and on..it just got worse by the minute....will never go back again!!!

Good selection in wine flights and good food. We had the burgers with fries and enjoyed them on the sofas near the stage. Parking is tricky and the location is questionable, but definitively a good stop if your looking to do a Sunday Funday.

They sell wine by the half glass which is half the price of a full glass. Can easily make your own wine flight which is nice and not overly priced. Food is very good. Some is pricey and you don't get a lot. Stick to the appetizers. Good vegetarian assortment of things to get.
