I've been to the SRR a few times now and I always enjoy my time there. The property is indescribably beautiful. The horses, the fields, the overarching red-rock of the monument valley... It's something you need to see for yourself. The rooms have a well balanced mix of western and modern decor. Some places are just tacky; this is not the case at SRR. The food is incredible; I had the fish... in UT... yeah, that good. One of my favorite parts of the property is the fire pit next to restaurant, over looking the river. It's perfect for an after dinner cognac and cigar.

I much prefer visiting in the cooler months- spring and fall. Once, I visited in winter and it was very quiet and fairly cold. This didn't bother me one bit. To get Arches, Dead Horse, and all the other spots around the valley mostly to your self is worth the cold.

Whenever I hear someone is heading down to the Moab area, I recommend they stay at the Sorrel River Ranch.
