My family recently visited RHR right during NYS's phase 2 of reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic. I want to start off by saying that my family had a wonderful time. There was plenty to do indoor and outdoors (more outdoors, naturally) and my kids (15 and 11) had a blast. Post quarantine, our major concerns were cleanliness, so I'd like to speak to that for anyone considering a getaway this summer. My family felt very safe there at all times. They are operating at a reduced guest capacity, so we never felt crowded even though they were "sold out" for the weekend. EVERYTHING is sanitized CONSTANTLY. They fog sanitize the rooms between stays. After every use of a life vest, raft, oar, etc, staff disinfects with spay or the fogger. Everyone wears masks on staff at all times; guests are asked to wear them inside and outside only if they are in close proximity to other guests. Meals and shows are mostly outside unless it's raining. Meals are still all-you-can-eat, but served my masked and gloved servers. Tables at indoor meals are assigned and widely spaced. While we were eating we watched staff clean tables, and chairs down to the spindles with disinfectant. Hand sanitizers were placed everywhere and wipes were available at the entrances to the pool areas. Smaller spaces, like the arcade, lounges and shop were limited to 5-10 guests at a time and staff were counting and would ask you to wait outside the area until there was room. That part was a little frustrating at times, but with good reason; it did make me feel safer. Also, the spa was not yet in operation due to it only being phase 2 of reopening.
Like I said, my family had a fantastic time. The food was great, the riding was fun and safe, the pools and hots springs were awesome, the staff was welcoming and incredibly attentive. My kids are already asking when we can go back!
