I have two good things to say about Anchorage Yoga. 1. The staff and other patrons are nice, and 2. The facility is updated.

BUT unfortunately, that is all the good feedback I have for this place. If the third, fourth, and fifth stars were 3. Quality of classes, 4. Value for money, and 5. Overall experience, these are all lacking.

All of the classes are overcrowded. This means during hot yoga people s sweaty feet are in my face. I almost got kicked in the face last time and it was not the fault of the other person, it was just too crowded. During stretching classes and all classes (but especially stretching) there is not enough space to spread out and do the different moves. Using straps, there is no space to extend your leg. There is no space for anyone to use the wall. The entire experience feels like the fast food version of yoga: quick, dirty, and leaves you less healthy and less satisfied than if you picked a slower, less crowded option.

Except unlike fast food, Anchorage Yoga also charges more than other better places in town. And on top of that, there are signs in the locker room telling people not to shower for more than three minutes at a time. Why? Not that I would use the showers there anyhow. I am always trying to get away as soon as I can. I am only attending long enough to use up my ten pre-paid classes. Don t waste your money. OpenSpace offers free classes, the Rock Gym offers $20 a month unlimited yoga with a climbing membership...Anywhere is better than Anchorage Yoga!
