The original Rusty Pelican from years ago had a lot of rustic character but the new Pelican is great too. It's certainly more dressed up and modern and the food is much more refined and sophisticated. It's under professional management and it shows.
Even if the service and food was not great, this is still the best dining view in all of Miami.
Fortunately, the food is wonderful and the service is too. We like to come as a family for Sunday brunch and they are always great with the kids and grownups alike.
It's heavy on seafood and sushi (obviously) but there are great selections of meat and chicken and good choices for vegetarians as well.
The homemade corn bread that they bring to the table disappears in a second. The bunelos are also delicious. And the fried calamari tastes more fresh than most other places.
For brunch this time our table had fried chicken and waffles with Sriracha infused berry sauce, lobster po-boys, pancakes with Nutella syrup, and variation on salmon eggs benedict among other things.
Desert is a hit, especially for the kids with the "build your own cupcake."
Absolutely worth the trip any time of day for the food and the view.
