It s unfortunate that I have mixed feelings about my stay because the location & room in this hotel was fantastic. The staff however is less than inviting to say the least. I am a Marriott Lifetime Titanium member with well over 1000 stays in over 20 countries and I was shocked at the responses given by the staff in a few instances. When I checked in, the staff was a bit disorganized and lacked focus on the me, the guest. While this was a stark contrast of what s I just experienced at the AC Hotel in Nice, it was not the downlight of my stay. I did receive a welcome gift in my room upon arrival which was unexpected but welcoming. Later in the evening, my sister and I had gone to the local McDonald s to get a bite as most other restaurants were no longer open for business. Due to the loud nature of the location we decided to bring the food back and eat in the lobby of the hotel. Despite the hotel restaurant being closed half way thru my meal, I was forced by hotel lobby staff to get up and go to my room. Despite my best effort to plead that my culture doesn t accept eating in the bedroom, I was still asked to leave. Upon arriving on the Bonvoy premier floor, none other than a homeless man outside the elevator and coincidentally my room. Now somewhat repulsed, I left my food go and turned in for the evening. While the staff at checkout was apologetic, it doesn t account for the issues which I d faced along the way. Long winded way of abruptly stating if you re looking for a hospitable experience, you re rolling the dice at this hotel. If you re less concerned as most would be when staying in Nice, this is just a hotel, not much more. In other good news on the stay, the 12.00 euro pot of coffee was actually really quite good.
