I honestly enjoyed no part of my experience at the Scottsdale Princess Fairmont Ice Skating rink. I drove with several of my friends for almost an hour to get there and then once we arrived we discovered that it costs $30 to self park which appeared to be the cheapest option. We didn't want to be late for our skate time which we were excited for so we used valet and got in line. We waited 40 minutes in line and once we got to the front were told that they did not accept cash payment.. So we were redirected to the Christmas shop to buy our passes there and get a receipt. We got to the front of the line at the Christmas shop and bought our passes then had to get into the long line again to get skates and wristbands with our receipts. My friends and I were upset by this so we called the hotel manager and discussed our options with them. They offered us a refund over the phone and then only offered "express passes" when we met with them in person. By the time we were back by the ice skating rink and had our skates we only had an hour left in our skate time. We sought a refund after this which was a lengthy process that led to us speaking with the "Christmas manager" (apparently a hard man to get a hold of) and were offered free passes to visit and skate again, refunded, and given complimentary beverages. This all would have been great if I hadn't wasted 3 hours of my time being disappointed by the quality of their management. This was supposed to be a fun night to celebrate my friends birthday and it didn't come anywhere near what we expected. The refund only covered the ice passes and not the $80 we spent on parking. Even if we hadn't had our issues with the cash, it wouldn't have been worth the lengthy trip to spend all our money on wobbling around on an over crowded ice rink.
