My experience with the service department was subpar. I made an appointment last week over the phone for today (I might've spoke with Terry?). When I called to make the appointment, I gave all the details of my problem and stated that a part would need to be ordered. I was told to come in and have the car looked at regardless. I did not receive an appointment confirmation email, so when I arrived, I could not recall which service team member I was scheduled with, but luckily the service team seemed to keep track of their appointments and Brian emerged from his booth.
He looked at the car, said a part would need to be ordered, which was SHOCKING since I stated that when I made the appointment. He told me that it would not be under warranty with them and I would need to take it to the dealership where it was purchased, ANOTHER question I asked over the phone but was told to just come in.
I ultimately decided to take my business elsewhere, not because of the warranty, but because of the demeaning staff.
Brian asked if I needed help backing my car out of the service garage. Since my car is equipped with 3 mirrors and a backup camera, I told him I could handle the simple task of backing straight out of the service garage. As I was backing out, another employee came to my window and asked if I needed help backing out.
....No, I needed assistance repairing my car, I did not need help operating my vehicle nor did I need any extra strangers improperly wearing their masks (it goes over your mouth AND nose) in my car during a pandemic.
It would've saved me a lot of time and energy if the details of my issue could've been handled over the phone. Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg was able to talk to me over the phone about my car's repair, the cost, and warranty information in a manner that was not demeaning or dismissive, unlike what I encountered here at Ourisman Honda of Tysons Corner.
