2 stars because they fixed the car this time (I think) but the service was lacking.

I had car trouble where my car had issues with shifting into reverse. Apparently, there was a recall for the TCM that I never got done. (I never received a letter from Ford.) They were nice at first about it, but when I asked them about another issue with my car (a check engine light that Auto Zone said is an O2 sensor that I added as a note on the envelope for the key drop), they told me it'd be $97 to check it.

What unnerves me is how much qualifying language they used over the phone regarding the recall work and how annoyed they seemed about me asking about the note I left on the key drop envelope. I suppose that if the car continues to have issues with shifting into reverse or another engine light, I'll just take the car elsewhere.

Update: I went to pick up the car last week and it still would not shift into reverse. The work ended up costing me nearly $1100 - including a $150 "diagnostic" fee (not $97 - apparently, it costs more to hook up the car's computer to the mechanic's computer when the question is about the transmission and not the engine). When I arrived to claim the car today, I was passed off between three staff members in order to get checked out. They were all civil but not friendly - a far cry from the first person I spoke to over the phone.

This is the first dealership to which I have taken a car where they did not wash my car before returning it to me. Considering I paid nearly $1100 - $500 in labor costs alone - the least they could have done was not let it sit out in the sun where it collected feathers, dust, and bird droppings!

I would not recommend Pearson Ford's service department to anybody who wants to encounter a friendly face and a car that is at least as clean as before dropping it off to the shop.
