I am honestly shocked at all the 1 star reviews. Are they the cheapest, no. Is it the best care I can give my animals? 15 years of experience says absolutely! Did your dog or cat have to wait longer than expected? Be grateful that they were not the emergent case that DID have to be rushed into the back. We've been going to Dr. Cotnam since before he was even at AVC and now love all the vets there. Most recent experience: my elderly dog with hip arthritis was unable to walk when we woke up Wednesday. Dr. Cotnam saw us at 1:00. I was a mess, the last two times my elderly dogs were that bad it was time to say goodbye (which AVC helped us through with extreme compassion). So, I was an absolute wreck. Dr. Cotnam and the amazing tech determined it to be an injury and after a lengthy, comprehensive exam sent us home with pain meds, instructions for care, and a request to let them know how she was in 48 hours. Dr. Cotnam himself called me the next day to check on her and give me more advice. Today I called at 48 hours and the receptionist and I talked for 15 minutes, she commiserated with me about her own senior dog and was as ecstatic as I was with the drastic improvement in Nyx. Always kind, non-judgemental, professional, compassionate, and genuinely invested in not just how the animal is but comforting us humans in the most painful of times as well. Obvious shout out to Dr. Cotnam here, but Dr. Gwin has been our savior many times over the years as well. They all have. Thank you guys so much!
