I got my Subaru serviced yesterday at Young Subaru...

I got my Subaru serviced yesterday at Young Subaru and let me tell you what I got. For $24.95 I got oil changed with a factory filter, they did a complete inspection, and showed me a safety problem that put my family at risk. Dexter the technician showed my that my right ball joint was loose and how it wore out my tire very quickly. SO..I could have stopped there and walked away for less than $30. But I was blown away when Nathan my advisor showed me the estimate to fix it. He pulled up a labor guide, charged me exactly the amount of time posted and I received a factory part. I know that any other shop would have charged me the same price and I would have had a aftermarket part from China installed. So I did it. Also, I knew I needed tires and had an appointment already with Discount tire. Nathan showed me a premium tire that was $25 each tire more than the Discount tire. It had twice the millage warrantee and approved by Subaru as an OEM replacement tire. He explained to me that the tred design will save me fuel costs and the tred compound is better for an all wheel drive vehicle. Also with it having a higher millage warrantee means it wears out slower and will give me more traction in the winter for several years longer than a cheaper tire. Better yet I get them rotated and balanced for free every 6,000. At $24.95 for an oil change and free rotation and balance...good luck beating that. I had a Master Technician doing my oil change, not a rookie. Did I mention that they have a road force balance machine? Ok so I'm car savvy...these balance machines actually extend the life of your tires and give you an amazing ride. It has a computer screen and a big roller that simulates tire contact on the road and then balances it

I would have been happy if that was all they did for me. Dexter checked my alignment for FREE! I watched him put it on their amazing alignment rack and saw for myself that my Subaru was all messed up. This machine it the latest Hunter alignment rack with lazars and strobes. I heard the machine talk to the mechanic...? I had no ides that there were so many adjustments. To see him adjusting my front struts to make it right blew me away. I have seen alignments done before. Not like this. Most guys are on the machine 10 minuets. He spent an hour working to get it just right.

So why do people complain that dealerships are so expensive? They did their job. My kid ran around and ransacked the place for 5 hours while I got my work done. I could have walked across the street and gone to the mall or taken one of their courtesy bikes for a ride. But I enjoyed the people and other customers that were there. Its hard for any business to get it right every time, but they gave me a lot for my money and I'm a customer for life. Thank you Young Subaru! I plan to address my head gasket leaks next and already have an estimate for repair so I can start saving!!! You guys Rock!!
