Dave Sherry Review of The National Gallery

Fantastic. We started at the top floor (Tudors). It was like walking through every history book you've ever read. Utterly breathtaking. Then it was the Stuarts, Hanoverians and onto the Victorians before finally rushing through the 20th Century. We were running out of time.
We had coffee in the Portrait Cafe (basement) and later returned for lunch. All very good. Having spent a day in there and realising we hadn't seen everything we wanted, we left to get the tube before the London chaos that is rush hour.
We will definitely come back again and this time maybe start at the bottom and work our way up. Hopefully we'll eventually get to meet where we were. Brilliant day out and highly recommended. Here's just a few photos. Every portrait in the gallery has a really informative note next to it. Very helpful.
