There are many opportunities here. Consider it a second chance for Students if they missed out on earlier opportunities in their young adulthood.
I am a graduating student of Job Corps.
I obtained my Diploma while here and I also left with two trades under my belt. I walked across the stage feeling accomplished.
During my time at Job Corps Center, I was very shy. This kept me out of trouble. I had not yet come out of my shell. So During my time there while students all around me were engaging in trouble and being removed from the program/their second chance, I was too afraid to join them. LOL
The program works if you do. I admired and looked up the students who became role models leaving the Job Corps Center as Success Stories.
A few of the staff played a major role in my succeeding as well.
Thank you to Mr. Tucker who is now working at a different location.
Ms. Larson who is now a former employee as well.
Anytime I had an opportunity I would volunteer for activities such as cleaning and reorganizing the library, tending to and saving the school garden and singing at an event.
I had a fun time at Job Corps Center.
I would also take walks around the grounds on nice days and star gaze in the night.
I would gather around positive friends. We would read together, attend bible Study and attend groups with other students.
Go to student events, talk to the staff, laugh and eat.
I REALLY enjoyed my time here.
The residential Staff was very memorable. Most of the women who worker there during my time as a student were very kind and attentive which is what Job Corp Needs.
I am very thankful for the education and training I received while there.
I appreciate the direction I received from the Staff as well.
STUDENTS, if you are reading this review.
Staff care and they will be there for you to offer guidance.
Find someone you can trust and open up to. And receive instruction, wisdom and direction from them.
They do exist at Job Corps. There are people there who genuinely care for the well being of the students.
Choose the right ones!
Take your SECOND CHANCE, seriously.
Bless all of you!
