Lauren McCullough Review of The Keller Pointe
Keller Pointe is terrible if you have young kids!
Keller Pointe is terrible if you have young kids!
The indoor pool, splash pad and outdoor pool don t open till noon on the weekends and 4pm on weekdays! Are you kidding?! I have to drive to Grapevine Rec center to take my kids to an indoor pool. During the school year the only swimming lessons offered are at dinner time, nothing during the weekdays for moms and kids under 5!!The children s area of the indoor pool and the splash pad (the only splash pad in Keller) should be open from 9am - 12 everyday. There are almost no activities for kids either. Other rec centers have tons of camps for young kids including dance, gymnastics, art, nature, sports, yoga and others, Keller pointe has like two options, almost nothing for kids under 5. This is just so disappointing.
Also, if you have a baby or might have one in the next year or two, don t pay for an annual membership! We made this mistake and when I tried to workout after having my baby is was kicked out of the gym! The kid s area doesn t take babies until they are over 6 months and you may not park your stroller with a newborn anywhere in Keller pointe - don t even try it, you will be ejected. Apparently a stroller tucked out of the way might cause a tripping hazard, but the 40 treadmills and 30 ellipticals do not???....
As a taxpayer I expect and demand more from a taxpayer funded establishment. I ve seen many comments and talked to many people about these issues. Something needs to change; most likely leadership and policies.
In the mean time, I m excited for the new Southlake rec center to open, sounds like it will offer a lot of what Keller Pointe is lacking.
