I have experience of buying audio visual equipment from independent specialists, John Lewis and mass-market chains. My experience of Richer Sounds has me rating them equal to the independent specialists.

Knowledge is excellent, customer care excellent, friendliness and helpfulness, excellent.

Visiting their stores at busy times will likely result in a less complete service as they do get very busy indeed. If at all possible, visit outside of peak hours if you want the benefit of talking through your wants and needs and benefitting from their advice.
