BE WARNED IF THE PHONE GOES WRONG AFTER SERVICE BELOW STANDARD

I generally don t write negative reviews because I fell I could just be unlucky and would always give the company time to make amends.
Purchased a phone as a gift iPhone 5, it was on for 3-4 days, one lunch it failed to register my sim. I then made contact with network provider and iTunes after 4 hours it was established that the phone as was fault. I then sent it back and was returned in a week. Picked up the phone and then spent all morning restoring this phone from ITunes only to find there is a processing delay on pressing the buttons and different apps opening to the ones pressed then not all iTunes songs transferring across. After over an hour on iTunes and reverting back to my previous phone it was again established that the phone could be corrupt or have an error.
I was then advised that as its over 14 days which is correct even though the phone has been switched on no more than 4 days I was not entitled to a refund a replacement or any form of compensation (even though checking consumer rights inform otherwise). To make matters worse, I have sent the phone back again as instructed and the phone has been by the company. SO they have the payment of the phone, the phone somewhere and little understanding or willingness to supply a replacement phone

Overall very disappointed and have sent detailed information over to trading standards and to Ofcom. Very disappointed
