just returned from a tour to blackpool with david urquhart to the norbreck hotel NEVER AGAIN the food was good and the tramstop was just across the road thats the end of the good we were a party of 3 i asked the tour company to put in a request for us to be on the same landing the hotel said they didnt contact them so we had a twin room 242 on the 2nd floor and the single room 801 at the other side of the huge hotel i let the receptionist know that was not acceptable she was not pleased but got us a room on the 2nd floor the room was musty and the windows filthy black and a strange smell out of the drawers furniture all marked and scraped no walk in shower and no grab rail on the wall at the bath and the bath was slippy not good for people in their 70s not a shelf for to put your toiletries the airvent was dark brown and filthy we had no housekeeping for 2 days out of our 4days SHOCKING NO DRY TOWELS AND NO MILK AND NO RUBBISH COLLECTION THE RUBBISH BAGS WERE SEE THROUGH AND YOUR FINGER WENT THROUGH THEM HAD TO USE OUR OWN toilet rolls the cheapest of the cheap the food was very good but their is a chef in there (a tommy cooper lookalike) who is very abrupt and nasty the tables are far to small and meant for 4 people they hardly done 3 people and they were all crushed together it was a job in itself to squeeze by them with hot food in your hand and other guests giving you the eye horrible the soup was coloured water their was a musty smell about the whole place its to far out of blackpool about 7 or 8 stops in the tram duvets didnt have buttons or studs on them to close it the mattress although hard was quite comfy why the tour company (DAVID URQUHART IN SCOTLAND would associate themselves with that kind of hotel beats me will try another tour company in the future so please read this and give it a wide berth our driver (STEVE) was lovely and well suited to working with the public
