I love flying in and being able to spot your hotel...

I love flying in and being able to spot your hotel from the final descent/approach. Coming from Southern California where our transportation systems sucks I m always looking forward to BART and Bay Area s transpo and was totally willing to bus it the 3 miles to my hotel for the night. Heck I might have walked if money was a consideration, but my buddy picked me up and dropped me off at my Hotel. That waterfront gets a decent breeze, but at least it s not cold like on the other side of the city.

It s a good sized hotel, feels new, clean building that fits in nicely among the hotel row. I actually expected more things to do with all the hotels around, but there is almost nothing within walking distance. Maybe that s why each hotel has huge lots for parking as they expect everyone to have rental cars as this area isn t IN the city.

Breakfast kind of was a joke downstairs and the bar was pretty basic on drinks, very wine heavy. I fully expected it to me more secluded versus on the way to the elevators. Hours were not adjusted considering there was a huge conference here. Parking was comp d to the room, but the parking lot itself was a maze to get out of. My room was spacious with a large TV and plenty of space to unload for an extended stay, great water pressure on the 9th floor. Solid AC, but the fan in the bathroom was weak and no independently switched. Closet space to hang up suits and clothing was limited. Dry cleaning was a little expensive, but the laundry was like $6 to wash a pair of underwear and only a little more to do a suit. I really thought they d do it by item or bag or something versus individual item pricing like dry cleaning, which makes sense.

Check out was super easy as was the extra key situation. Check out was at noon, which is convenient for long nights and short days, but late check out was 2pm, which is super late.

Maid s adhere to the sock on the door notification as the universal flag of come back later or even no service today.

Late night checkin, room service till late, but nothing seemed appetizing considering the breakfast was a bust. Not quite extended stay food. Close to BART and Caltrain. They have a shuttle that will take you to the airport, but don t count on it, inconsistent. The 9th floor window actually opens (maybe I m just used to Vegas windows not opening at all). I ll return at a discount, though if I m coming to SF I m coming for the city and this is only super convenient if you have an event here only.
