Kruckeberg botanical garden is a hidden gem in Shoreline. I was surprised by how large the garden was. At first glance, I was thinking it would be quite small especially considering there were maybe 10 total parking spots and the first area you visit with the nursery is pretty small. However, there is a path that leads downhill that reveals a large portion of the garden with a wide variety of local bushes, shrubs, and trees. There is a nice water feature with calm waterfalls and plants. Another surprise was the rather large wooden and copper statue in the garden. It looks almost like a T. rex skull but I believe is a sculpture of wooden with copper pieces installed in different pieces. It begs to be climbed but has quite a smooth surface so I wouldn t necessarily recommend it. I spent almost an hour here but could spend even more time if I just wanted to relax and enjoy the serenity of the garden. I hope to return and explore more gardens in the Puget Sound area.
