Despite spending nearly a grand at the Phoenician Spa, the resort denied us access to the restaurants because we weren't staying in a room at the resort. Does being loyal to the Marriott brand and carrying a Marriott credit card help? Nope. Does Bonvoy gold status help? Nope. The spa page features a drop down menu of resort restaurants that spa customers will be shunned from, despite spending big money at a resort amenity.
