The location of the hotel is great, the architecture too. But unfortunately that is it. The front desk is always overwhelmed/understaffed. It takes forever to checkin - even in the afternoon long after check in time. If you (very politely) complain, nobody seems to care.

No compensation offered, no upgrade, not even a drink while waiting.

Any of these - or at the least a sincere apology - would have been normal in any other five star hotel. Not at the SO. And we waited more than 45 minutes to get our room. At 4pm ....

Then the room smelled moldy and the aircon didn't work properly. The next room was the same. We gave up.

At the pool there were never enough loungers for the guests, etc.

A complaint management is not in place respectively could not be bothered. That includes (!) the GM, Mr. Hosany.

AVOID. Singapore Hotels are expensive, but there must (is) be much better out there, especially at these tariffs.
