Omega Services (plumbing) on 10 April 2019 was a disaster for our house at Beecroft for the following reasons:

1. When I called them for a blocked drain in the bathroom, the guy on the phone gave me an estimate of $200
2. Plumber named Warren came over and inspected the drain as well as other drains and said it would cost $440+GST
3. He then went on to put camera in the sewer opening outside the home and said he tried clearing the roots in the pipes with water jet, but there was a damaged pipe. He recommended we dig up the ground and replace the damaged pipe for a cost of $4418+GST (approx. $5,000)
4. I said there was only one bathroom drain clogged while others including the toilet pot and shower drain worked, so it could not have been something outside. The cause must be local to bathroom
5. This logic was to no avail and he kept pressurising me to sign up the $5,000 order on the spot. I was not convinced hence he left after collecting his $440+GST, BUT WITHOUT SETTING RIGHT THE DRAIN. HE LEFT THE BATHROM CLOGGED AS BEFORE
5. I called a family plumber soon after, who cost me $300+GST, he used his traditional tools and removed debris from the clogged drain; SET RIGHT THE DRAIN. He confirmed that there was no need to dig up the ground for a major work
6. It is clear that Warren/Omega want to make big money too fast at the cost of unsuspecting customers. I spoke with Warren and demanded refund of my $440+GST for the work he did not do. He kept harping on his argument of long term solution. But he could not defend why he did not remove debris from the clogged drain
7. Warren promised that Omega office will call and offer a refund, but this has not happened.

Customers should learn from my experience and beware of plumbers who want to push you to spend thousands of dollars by not resolving simple drainage issues and by frightening you of a so called big problem. Always ask for a second opinion. Do not be blinded by technical talk. Always speak up and post reviews against unethical (bordering on fraudulent) practices.
