Katie Barnes Review of Lake Lanier Islands Resort, NE...

So lots to say about Margaritaville! This place is very large and spread out, but felt like there wasn't much to do. A golf cart is a necessity, because its so hilly, it makes it impossible to walk around the place or bicycle. There is a beach and a tiki bar, but was closed down due to covid. They were also blowing snow, for winter snow tubing. The boat access is not close to the camping sites. Also you can not access the lake, although you have lake view, from the campsites. The sites are pretty close together, depending on which site you choose. It rained the last day and when I walked the dogs the next morning, some of the sites were flooded with water. Seems like they did not take that into consideration when pouring the sites. They do not have a campsite store on the premises. So you must take all you need or be willing to drive off the property. They have one restaurant with very high pricing for drinks and food. We were also told the restaurant was dog friendly but do to the arrangement of the tables on the patio we were told we were not able to sit and dine. We had to get to go food and find a place to sit. All the umbrellas had wasp nests in them, which were swarming while trying to eat. They do have food delivery to your campsite, but again the pricing is astronomical. We had 2 power outages, the first night that we were there. The power just went off for a brief second but that also can cause power surges. So the power going out and coming back on could cause a big issue. We did not have any problems with the wifi, but some of the other campers on the other side of the road said they didn't have wifi all weekend. Our cable left a lot to be desired, there is not many channels and the channels we did get were not great. At one point, while it was storming, we did not have any cable. So! Pricing is a lot for what is provided. The staff was nice, my husband thought the restaurant staff was rude. I didnt think so. I didnt visit the bath house so I can not comment on that. Unless the pricing changes, most likely will not return.
