Overall, Sorral River Ranch was a great spot for our vacation with a few major flaws you need to be aware of before booking your stay. First, the good, it is in a FANTASTIC location with AMAZING views and friendly staff.
However....
1) Get ready to be gouged like crazy. Really, both my family and the one we were traveling with were shocked by this one. We expected it a little, but not this much. Get ready to pay $68 for a steak equal in quality to the $9 Outback Special, or $14 for a normal bowl of granola. None of the food options are particularly good and all are outrageously expensive. You can go out to eat but restraunts in Moab are about a 40 min drive away. All the meals we ate in town where delicious and reasonably priced.
Want to ride one of the ranche's horse? No problem, it just costs $100 per person per hour
It's stuff like this that really starts to get annoying after a while and detract from the experience.
2) Be prepared for LOTS of noise in your cabin. One of the things that brought us to the resort is a desire to relax and enjoy the peace. While this was easy to do walking around during the day, the paper thin walls in the rooms make it hard at night. You can hear the TV, talking, footsteps, and toilet flushes of all those around you when trying to sleep. We had 2 rooms which were both super noisy. We where able to change one of them, and the new room was just as bad. Please be prepared for noise.
Overall, the ranch is good. The staff is AMAZINGLY friendly and helpful and added a lot to the experience. We enjoyed our time there and thought the views and activities where worth going for. Its just that for the price, we where disappointed by the noise and very overpriced, underwelming food.
