We were there the day before Thanksgiving Day. It was very crowded! If you're from out of town, it may be a good idea to purchase a season pass so that you can see everything in at least two days. And download the app because no printouts of the schedule are handed out.
Pros-
*original space rockets, capsules, etc. *Another part of museum is inside a space shuttle mounted on a 737.
*3 tram tours
*Many hands-on science kiosks
*a laser dodge activity.
*Several live presentations
Cons: no printouts of the day's schedule. When we purchased tickets, we were given a large foldable brochure with a small map surrounded with ads from sponsors; and a brochure advertising membership benefits.
There is an app to download; however, it didn't include all of the movies and videos available for the day. Signs are posted on the walls the times of each movie or video.
We entered the museum a few minutes after it opened. We chose a tram tour, the one with the Saturn rocket. We were informed that it would take an hour. It ended up being three hours because we stayed so long.
It was lunch time when we returned. While in line for lunch, we heard the announcement for the lunch with an astronaut five minutes before it occurred. Because we didn't have a schedule beforehand, we don't know if we would have been able to attend.
After our lunch, there was another announcement that the tram tours were closing at 2 pm, and that there was a one hour wait for a one hour tour.
We looked at the app and it showed that the events for the day were already done.
I went to the information desk to ask why these events were only in the morning and early afternoon? The employee showed us the printout of the schedule, which included events throughout the day, which we could photograph. She thought it strange that the app didn't include the entire movie and presentation schedule. She said she would report it to management.
Even without going on another tram tour, it was impossible to see everything else before closing time at 5:00.
