Was there for a 30 minute scheduled outpatient procedure. Was billed $5400 for a "facility charge" on top of the cost of the procedure. Was not informed prior of the possibility of such a charge. Vanderbilt Patient Relations (what a misnomer) stands by and defends the charge. Give me a break - REALLY??? Future patients BEWARE. The sky does not appear to be the limit for their imaginative and creative billing. THIS is what is wrong with our HEALTHCARE system.
