After finding out I had mold in the basement of my home, I got three estimates and decided to go with Remediation Group due to their great customer service. Initially, all of my questions were answered quickly by Dudley, estimator, via email or phone calls. After I contracted and paid half for the work to be completed, customer service was horrible. I assume it was because I live in TX and was not there in GA to oversee the work, but that should NOT have been the case. Shannon was suppose to be completing the work; however, weeks went by and I did not hear from the company so I decided to call. I was told that an email had been sent to me weeks prior stating more mold had been found and I needed to authorize the change order. Well...I never received the email and why could they not have called me. When I finally spoke to Shannon, he apologized profusely because I had decided to get someone else to finish the work. So, I decided to give them another chance. What a BIG mistake. I decided to go to GA and see the work that had been done already only to find my house had been left unsecure and my front loaded washer and dryer had been stolen as well as mud throughout the house and doors scratched up. I immediately contacted Shannon, but Fred, the owner, answered his phone to tell me he no longer worked for the company. Unfortunately, I started off with a reasonable contract, but ended up with a new estimate costing $2000 more than what I had been quoted, over $1000 loss of washer and dryer, a a dirty house with trash to haul off. The contaminated items from the basement and the workers outfits were left in my garage partially covered in plastic and in garbage bags. Mold was still prevalent in the areas to be remediated and vents still covered with blue tape. Needless to say, I am pursuing a refund as the mold which I hired them to remediate was still in the basement because they could not complete the contract until I authorized them to complete the additional work. I did initially authorize them to complete the additional work which was suppose to be another $1100 based on Shannon's estimate, but Dudley's estimate was way higher. Dudley said Shannon had done a crappy job based on where he should be at that stage and I could get a refund, but Fred overruled him and said I could get a partial refund. He recanted his story. Unfortunately, the accountant called and said I owed them more money now. Funny....The way I look at it is a company should complete the work based on the contract that I paid them to do before asking for more money. Then if I am completely satisfied, we will discuss further work. I definitely would not recommend this company and totally regret I ever entrusted the repairs of my home to them. I have filed a credit card dispute and a complaint with the BBB to try and get a resolution.
