Dave Logusz Review of The Palms South Beach

It's been a while since I've posted anything less than a 4 as I'm typically pretty easy to please, but there were a few major issues at this facility. First and foremost, the elevators were in shambles throughout our entire stay. Getting back and forth to the room (we were only on the 5th floor) would literally take up to 25 minutes. Secondly, the drinks served at the pool area were not only awful, but cost about $20 each, and this is for a bottom shelf whisky/coke, rum coke, etc. Extremely weak, and if you wanted another shot of your choice spirit, another 10 clams. Luckily, the liquor store is only a couple of blocks away (TAKE ADVANTAGE). Funny enough, after letting the bar tender know you were displeased and asking for another shot of which they charge another $10 for, they ask you to not forget to rate them online. I think if it were me, I would make that request upon doing something that actually overwhelmed the guest, not underwhelmed them. The rooms weren't typically cleaned until very late in the afternoon, so getting ready for an evening dinner is pretty rough. Post cleaning, there was still quite a bit of garbage laying around, fallen empty mini shampoo bottles rolling around in the shower, etc. Add the pungent urine smell in the hallways (dark yellow urine smell, not clear urine smell), painters tape all over the place, but nobody painting, and the extremely loud chainsaw going in the lobby from about 10am through 3pm straight....Overall experience....I'd pass on this establishment as there are MANY more hotels that provide a MUCH better experience for the money. I hope this helps.
