AVOID!!!

AVOID!!!
First, a little pre-text, my friend has been going through hell trying to just get a car and was recently the victim of a spot delivery scam at another local dealership. I have been helping him recoup his losses and he was excited to finally be getting a car. My friend and I went into Grubbs Nissan yesterday to look at a specific corolla he'd found online, advertised price - 14,500. The car was perfect so he asked to write up the deal.
He'd already been pre-approved for 12500 and was prepared to pay for the difference with cash. The sales person came back with an outrageous deal with obscure terms - payments of $450 financed over 60 months!! They had added on a 2k warranty and nearly 4k in "options" as well as a 1200 dealer and bank fee! (800 for auto tint that was already on the car, 600 for tire rotation, 500 for a maintenence plan, 700 for a security system, and more unneeded BS add-ons) We protested, said we're not paying for all those add-ons and the sleazy sales manager lied to us and said he couldn't get him financed if he didn't get all the add-ons which is entirely illegal.
After getting up to leave, the sales manager came running out after us and says he got the payments down to below 400. We came back in to see and it was more trickery, "taking off" the add-ons but now the purchase price on the paperwork was nearly 18,000 and the deal was financed over 72 months!
We left immediately as should you.
DO NOT FALL FOR THE SCAMS! DEALERSHIPS LIKE THIS GIVE THE FEW HONEST DEALERS A BAD NAME. It should be criminal to exploit people like this.
Also, because the manager pushed several hard inquiries on his credit unnecessarily due to the fact that he was PRE-APPROVED, it made his credit lower and more difficult to get a car.
Avoid Grubbs Nissan at all costs.
