It was okay. Like many big historic hotels, the lobby, ballrooms, and 1st floor are generally big and gracious. The staff was quite friendly.. Okay availability of outlets. And the bed and pillows were fine. But contrary to the web pictures, my room (316) was dark and dreary 24/7. Even the lamps seemed to illuminate only a couple feet around them making reading difficult anywhere else. The bathroom was quite cramped according to modern hotel standards - one person only, and even then cramped. The TV failed to turn on despite punching every button I could find.multiple times. The desk chair nearly toppled over when I mistakenly kept absentmindedly leaning back. Dingy carpet, weak water pressure, lukewarm water, holes in the wall paint from past clashes, and widely fluctuating room temperatures without changing the thermostat. Normally I'm indifferent to hotel rooms in my extensive travels. I noticed this one.
