Burke sigler Review of Alpine Bakery & Trattoria
Reservations were made at the Alpine Bakery in Alp...
Reservations were made at the Alpine Bakery in Alpharetta for a Sunday night in September in order to celebrate my grandson's 16th birthday. He was very excited because Alpine Bakery was one of his favorite restaurants until now.
We arrived & our party of 7 was seated & the dining experience was a disaster from the beginning. Our waiter gave me the impression that he would have preferred to be somewhere else other than working this particular evening & it showed. He took our drink orders, as well as our order for appetizers, then disappeared. Drinks were delivered & our main course orders taken at that time. 30 minutes later we were trying to flag down the waiter to get drinks refilled. We were practically begging for bread which he finally brought out to us. At this point he practically ignored our table. We arrived at 7:00 pm & were finally served at 8:30! During this time I asked to see the manager & she failed to show. My son went into the kitchen & tracked her down, asking that she come to our table. He had to go back to the kitchen for a 2nd time before she finally came to the table.
We had to ask 3 times before we finally got her to talk with us. To add insult to injury, my veal scallopini was horrible. It tasted as if the entire dish had been drenched in lemon juice & the veal was tough.
When the manager finally arrived, she looked exasperated. She listened to our concerns & finally decided to comp out meal. While that was generous on her part, the entire evening was ruined due to the complete incompetence of the manager & the restaurant staff.
We have dined at Alpine Bakery many times & had good experiences, but this was the final straw. I will never dine here again. With over 6500 restaurants in the Atlanta metroplex, I can find comparable restaurants with better food & better service.
My advise to everyone: STAY AWAY FROM ALPINE BAKERY!!!!!!!
