We did the Cascades Gorge Hike for the first time this trip and it was absolutely the highlight of the week. Hold off on doing the canoe trip until those in your party can manage a kayak instead of a canoe. The marketing for the canoe trip sets the expectation that you ll have a serene paddle down a lazy river -- this is not the case. You ll need to be able to navigate the canoe around large rocks while in Class I or II rapids. Much easier in a kayak.

Pool is great and relaxing. Poolside service is slow sometimes but the food is terrific. The water slides are fun for all ages. The unlimited towels were exciting.

Golf at The Homestead is exceptional. Get the prepaid rounds or a golf package. Golf staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.

The overall staff experience was phenomenal. Omni participates in a program to employ workers from overseas and we found these individuals very eager to assist and serve, but some we noticed were weak in English. Still, these individuals were very attentive and focused on providing top service.

The guest folio/billing is a bit overwhelming. Everything is its own line item. Everything. Food. Tax on food. Gratuity for food. It's all in one long list with no daily totals. I can understand it being done this way, but it s just a lot and makes separating what s been paid with what s outstanding a bit of a challenge.

Last thing -- I miss the Homestead-themed key-cards (now just generic Omni).
