I am very excited that I can finally write a review in Tallahassee about a change for the better. After years of struggling to find a beer I liked at Grasslands, my mind has been completely changed following a recent visit. While sitting at the bar and working my way through a flight, I got to chat with the owner Gabe Grass and hear all about the revitalization in Grasslands brewing process over the last few months.

During this past summer of 2017, a brand new production-sized system, with improved procedures and ingredients, replaced the previous small batch system that had left much to be desired that was turning out beers with inconsistent quality and taste. The new system and staff are now producing beers almost unrecognizable from the previous ones. I was blown away by the difference in taste amongst all the beers, with my particular favorites being the LeeRoy the Red imperial red ale, the Advanced Darkness porter, the Blonde Claude Van Damme blonde ale, the Fourth Orbit red ale with ginger, the Basketball Jones dunkelweiss, and even the goofy Thanksgiving Stuffing Horizon Line, which actually tastes like mom s stuffing (in a good way). I had tried most of these beers previously and the difference in quality and taste from then to now is literally night and day.

I completely understand that a brewery can go through some growing pains and that it takes time to get things right, especially when trying to do the best one can with a small, limited system. I am just happy to see that Grasslands has finally gotten it right! Thank you so much for the experience Gabe and I look forward to being back soon!
