The story starts off a year ago. My husband and I decide to do the medical checkup. We both had a great experience. However, they found a large gallstone and told me my gallbladder eventually needed to be removed. Due to the time constraints, we could not get the surgery done last year. We came back home to the United States and we were not happy with how much they wanted to charge us. Since I had no signs of the gallstone bothering me, it would be an elective surgery. So I decided to wait until November 2019 to get the surgery done in Bumrungrad. In the meantime, I noticed certain foods were bothering me and I had slight upper abdominal pain but I had been experiencing all of this for a good 12 to 13 years, just now I knew the cause of my discomfort.

My doctor was Dr. Supromajakr and he was delightful. It was amazing to have a consultation with a doctor who actually cares about his patients. Not once did I feel rushed. We decided it would be best to do an ultrasound before the surgery, just to make sure it was one huge stone. I was nervous on surgery day, my first one. It was lovely that the anesthesiologist came in and talked to me for a good while. She actually had the same surgery done by the same doctor. When I woke up, I was in a private room. My husband was there waiting and I am glad he had a couch to sleep on. The room was lovely and always clean. I ended up having to stay 2 days after the laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. The incision below my belly button had to be bigger in order to get the gallstone out. It was the biggest stone he has ever pulled. My time at the hospital was lovely. The nurses, doctor, and cleaning staff were all very attentive. Any time I needed to get up, I called, and I was helped right away. I managed to walk around on the rooftop garden, which was great. My follow up appointment was nice and overall, the medical bill was cheaper that anything we would have paid in the United States with insurance.

The care is worth it. My husband and I will be coming here every year for a medical check up.
