Time and time again the emergency room is an absolute disaster. Every time I've gone there for myself, my wife, or my 1yo child the wait times are well over 3hrs. I just went there this evening due to my child having a 104 degree fever. We were called back to do a prescreen, where the temperature was verified, and Tylenol was given, and then returned to the lobby. The next couple that arrived was told it would be at least 3hrs. I waited about 45 minutes, and approached the counter as my daughter was shaking uncontrollably, and burning up, and asked about how long it would be (my daughter was obviously sick); they advised they couldn't give an accurate timeframe. There were three others waiting. How do you not have the ability to forecast a timeframe? Anyways, I pulled up Edward Medical Groups ER wait times, because they magically have that technology, and neither the Naperville Hospital location, nor the ER in Plainfield had any wait times. Needless to say I told the front desk to remove me from their list and hightailed it over to Naperville. 1.) Edward Hospital is and always has been nicer, 2.) the staff is far kinder, 3.) there's hardly ever a wait and the staff is far more quick to provide medical treatment if there happens to be a wait. I will never, unless I have no other choice (i.e. unconscious arriving by ambulance), be returning to Rush Copley. I will always go to Edward if the option is available. I better not receive a bill for one dose of Tylenol.
