We started our mortgage shopping and house hunting process in January and finally closed on our home purchase in June. From the very first in-person consultation we felt very comfortable with Melissa. Mortgages are complicated. She took all the time we needed to explain everything in detail. We told her we had to do our due-diligence and explore other mortgage options such as Credit Union, a competing mortgage lender, and our own bank. Melissa wasn t phased or put- off one bit. She simply reiterated the benefits of doing business with Suburban and let us do our thing.

When we had our meeting with the competing mortgage lender, he was more interested in texting with his wife than giving us his undivided attention. We left that meeting just shaking our heads. There was no way he was going to earn our business. The Mortgage Officer at our own bank (one of the biggies) didn t seem too interested and used tactics reminiscent of a used-car salesman. No thanks. Finally, the Credit Union lender told us he couldn t compete the terms put forth by Suburban. He actually recommended we take their deal. At the end of the day Melissa at Suburban had set the bar very, very high.

Sparing all the details, let s just say our mortgage process had a lot of moving parts. Melissa handled everything with finesse and grace. To say she has patience is an understatement. Throughout our 6-month process Melissa answered every question we had, in detail, whether via phone call, text, or e-mail, and did so promptly even though she was buried with re-fi s and other clients mortgage apps. Nothing she said was remotely untrue so there were no surprises at closing.

I m sure the other Mortgage Officers within Suburban s company are great as well but our experience with Melissa was just over the top awesome.
