So this is my first time to the InterContinental i...

So this is my first time to the InterContinental in Singapore, previously stayed at a 5star hotel on Tanglin RD. However I have stayed at InterCon properties all over the globe. On arrival into SIN, as I exited the aircraft there was a representative waiting to take me through customs, collect my luggage and show me to my car. The driver called ahead and the hotel was waiting for me. Beautiful interior and the customer service was excellent. Great location too. However in the middle of the night (on the third night) the light in the bedroom comes on by its self. I try to turn it off and I can't. It's 2am ish. No other lights are working, bathroom, foyer, living room or second bathroom or dining area, I have to use the flash light in the night stand to navigate the rest of the room. I call the front desk. They send the engineer up. He leaves to get his ladder and then comes back and "fixes" the problem. Go back to bed and guess what happens 2 hours later. Call the front desk and and he comes back up and apologizes and does what he did before. At this point it's 4am ish with no good sleep. I lay down and 15 min later, guess what happens again! This time I go down to the front desk. They give me a room on a different floor to sleep in. I go to that room and it's an oven and the air is hot and stale. I pop a sleeping pill just trying to sleep. Toss and turn and finally give up at 7am and sweaty from the hot room. I assume they fixed the problem in my room during this time (as that would make sense). So I go back to my room and now no lights will come on (not even the only bulb that would work in the bedroom). I go back to the front desk and am told I have to wait for an engineer to come and fix the problem. I ask about showering in the dark and was told "I could use the shower in the room they had given me to sleep in". I really didn't want to schlep my clothes from my room to another room on a different level simply to shower and then have to wait for power. I was supposed to have a meeting at 10am that morning but thank goodness they canceled. This room didn't come cheap, it was 3,000+ and as a platinum ambassador I would think they would value my loyality and simply give me another room to move into and use rather than just offer a room to shower and then have to wait around to get power back in my room. It's not like I'm complaining about a hair on a towel and trying to get an upgrade. As of now it's 11:30am, I have been up since 2am and still have no access to my room, sitting in the lobby exhausted in the same clothes I had on since last night (put a track jacket and shorts on over) and I have to leave at 3am tomorrow for the airport. I ask to find out at 1140 when my room will be ready and the front desk clerk went and disappeared. After 10 minutes of standing there I go back to sitting in the lobby. Ten minutes later someone comes out to speak to me and said they have been in contact with the engineer (that was what they were doing while they disappeared). I finally say I simply want a room. Give me your smallest room, I don't care at this point. I was then informed by the time it would take to move rooms, my room will be ready in half an hour. They had to replace the entire fuse box in the ceiling. Now they should have offered to move me when I woke up with no power instead of making me wait until 1230pm after being up since 2am. They dropped the ball on this and this is unacceptable.
