Traveled 3 hours for a job interview the next morn...

Traveled 3 hours for a job interview the next morning. Had made a reservation. Since I had been unemployed for a year and had no money to my name, I had my mother's credit card. With a security chip. And she was available to call and confirm either by employee or credit card company. Front desk refused to rent me a room because my and my mother's first names didn't match. This was the only hotel in the town. I had to sleep in my car in freezing temperatures, sponge bathe in a gas station restroom and dress in wrinkled clothes for my interview.
There were several ways to verify my situation but there was zero effort made.
