Every experience with SMMC I have to have confirms...

Every experience with SMMC I have to have confirms why SMMC is my last choice. I used to think it was one doctor or one practice but, it isn't. The problems at SMMC seem to be cultural. Why would a doctor not modify a prescription for an ointment when the initial quantity is insufficient? Paperwork! No one wants to to any, it seems! Easy fix, would have given me the comfort I needed. Instead, I had to be seen by another doctor who immediately prescribed what I needed - no interference! Alas, it wasn't an SMMC doctor but, Research Medical Center. Therein lies the problem, I should have started with and stayed at Research. I did know better. There are some wonderful people at SMMC, for sure but, not enough of them to keep me coming back under any circumstance.

Update: 9/10/2019: My mother-in-law's doctor called in an order to have her admitted at 9:30 am. Had to go through the ER she said. Knowing how horribly slow this hospital is, we didn't show up until about 12:30pm. I figured that should have given them enough time to set everything up. My mother-in-law sat in the ER for just under EIGHT HOURS before she was finally moved to a room. At the SIX HOUR mark, I spoke with the nursing supervisor, Sheryl, who told me she would be moved into room 5XX in the CCU "as soon as (she) gets off the phone." I took that to mean minutes. It would up being AN ADDITIONAL TWO HOURS!!! And, she was moved to room 8XX instead.

Nothing at this hospital has improved since my last HORRIBLE experience in the ER TWO YEARS AGO!!! I was one of two patients in the ER on a Monday night at midnight. I wasn't seen for FIVE HOURS.

This totals three horrible experiences at this ER over about 5 years. Changing the name didn't do any good. Seems things in their ER are getting that much worse. ZERO improvement in over FIVE YEARS!!!

No matter how busy they are or aren't, it seems, they're always "slammed."

I would strongly recommend going elsewhere, if you are able to choose.
