This Hilton is immediately adjoining the Torrey Pines golf course. Every room has a view of the course with the ocean just beyond that. It is obviously well populated with golfers. There are some nice beaches and San Diego a few minutes drive away, but walking to a beach is not an option. Walkable restaurants are a choice of the very over priced hotel restaurant or a similar but worse quality golf clubhouse restaurant. Guests seem to order out for pizza a lot, by the look of the empty pizza boxes outside of rooms. Other than its proximity to Torrey Pines and nice views, the rooms have balconies and some private decks with lounge chairs and a patio table. The big negatives are you need to drive to do anything other than golf, food is expensive, and you get hit with disproportionately large resort and parking fees that really have no value. Expect to pay at least $80 per night more than the room price. Still, it is an attractive place to stay.
