3 story Elizabethan building in the 'black and white' style in a semi circle with the stage towards the front seated tiers are roofed in with thatch but the standing area isn't so if it rains you get wet. The seats are wooden and narrow as they would have been during Shakespeare's time so my advice is to rent a cushion from the theatre as you'll be sitting for around 3 hours. There's a cafe and bar area on the terrace and in the foyer. But all of this is secondary to the actual plays. Go for the atmosphere and the acting.
