Tim van der Werff Review of ITC Sonar, The Luxury Collecti...
Not really what an international traveller expects...
Not really what an international traveller expects from a 5 star.
The furnishings are being a bit tired and there is a definite systemic problem with cleaning.
Tables in the dining buffet area greasy and need good clean
The placements used are filthy - reused between diners.
The furnishings need a good clean, seats and furniture often having stains and marks
Service is patchy often attendant to overbearing, but always best intentioned.
The pool is fabulous, just beware splinters in the board walk which they warn you about and the collapsing structure beside the pool, which they didn't warn about. Substandard building materials has parts of the shade structures collapsing, far safer to not lie under this shade.
Also disturbingly I returned to my room one day and found the door unlocked and open but no staff around or in the room despite waiting more than 5 minutes. This is a serious security issue which was offhandedly dismissed by the duty manager.
Room service was efficient and the food hot.
Wakeup call fail - and I almost missed my plane connection.
Concierge staff efficient and unfaulted
Checkout slow and laborious due I presume to inefficient processes and systems.
This hotel is equivalent to three star hotels and needs refurbishment, staff and process updates. It had some *** safety issues both with the building and the security processes that need immediate attention ***
Other reviewers must have stayed somewhere else Or don't have the first clue what International Hotels' aspiring for 5 stars are like
