This place evokes awe and emotions all at once. We were in London only for a week but I badly wanted to go in to watch a play here. The play that I got to watch was The Winter's Tale which was not bad but not great either. But the fact is it did not matter. Set beside the Thames, the open theatre with it's old thatched roofs has something which no other theatre did to me. I had goosebumps thinking of the times when Shakespeare used to set the play up himself. The gift shop is also very nice for tourists. One other thing I would love to mention is about the volunteers who were working that night at the theater. They were very warm, nice and very helpful. We took a short walk in the moonlight after the show and it felt ethereal. I would love to go back and watch another production one other time.
