Upon check-in I was forced to pay some sort of service fee that entitled me to water, snacks, soft drinks, or wine in the lobby for an hour or so. We do not drink alcohol. The water was 10.00 a bottle. Yes, $10.00 a bottle. The first room we were checked into was dirty. Stains on the carpet and lamp shade. Dirty windows. Furniture was really beat up and chipped. We found small bottle of Dasani water and eye drops under the bed sham. The shower drain actually looked nasty. Mold maybe? I am not sure. Ugly stains on the carpet. The hotel staff were very polite and accomadating and moved us to another room. It was not much of an improvement. The furniture was really worn and chipped. The windows were filty covered with dust/dirt. I am not petty or a knit picker. However I do expect cleanliness and decent furniture. I realize it is a hotel and hundreds of people pass thru the rooms, but we were moved to another room that was not much better. Nearly the same issues but the bathroom was clean. I would have prefered returning my money and finding a clean hotel. It seems this hotel was on the wave of "new boutique hotels" but was never maintained. Even the lobby funiture was showing wear and tear.
This was my birthday present to myself. Needless to say it was ruined by this stay.
