2011 Audi Q5 3.2 intermittent to no shifting gears...

2011 Audi Q5 3.2 intermittent to no shifting gears at all and stalling even upon entering highway traffic. Contacted Audi USA upon research about recall on mechatronic unit and/or transmission as it has been done in other countries and they sent me for diagnostics to a local Audi dealer. Audi USA advised that since there is no recall in the USA on this problem yet, they would only consider a goodwill refund following the dealer's diagnostic results. Town Audi of Englewood diagnosis was that my transmission fluid was discolored and has metallic shavings, also computer showed faulty planetary gear set. As I expected, new computer and transmission was needed as per Town Audi to correct this problem ($10000 plus labor). I declined this service, paid for the bill, and while trying to leave the dealership, I noticed that the car would not want to move at all. After re-starting a couple of times it finaly departed using 3rd gear I think. Audi USA declined any goodwill after that explaining that my car is a write-off and is out of warranty (car has a rebuilt title, not irreparrable). When I asked them why they didn't tell me that prior to spending my money on diagnosis, they said that they needed the diagnosis to determine that. The most interesting thing is that within the next couple days, I took it to a local shop in my village who after spending about 1.5 hours on the car made it run like new by only correcting the computer settings, also confirming that my transmission fluid or filter does not show any metallic shavings and that I do not need a new computer or a new tranny. They have also mentioned that if the car has only been at Audi when the problems started occuring and getting progressively worse, then they are the ones responsible for messing up the computer settings in order to sell me a new computer and transmission. They also said that the command that prompts low tranny fluid was off also on top of others messed up items. Reported to BBB, promised a FULL REFUND WITH RECEIPT FOR DIAGNOSIS AND AN E-MAIL CONFIRMING THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PART OF MY SERVICE RECORD AND DID NOT GET ANYTHING!! TOOK MY CREDIT CARD NO. ON THE PHONE TWICE AND SAID THEY'RE REFUNDING WHILE I'M ON THE PHONE - NO REFUND FOR 6 MONTHS ALREADY!! STAY AWAY! CROOKS! LIED TO MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY WHEN I CHARGED BACK A MONTH AGO AND TOOK MONEY BACK AGAIN!! NO STARS DESERVED!!! WILL REPORT TO NJ CONSUMER AFFAIRS NEXT.
