We had been staying in Amsterdam for a short time, on the day of our departure our flight got cancelled as the whole of Europe had been hit by a blizzard, grinding half the world to a halt. It was like the end of the world. All hope was lost! We received a communication from our airline and they sent us to an unknown hotel to shelter us from the storm. We arrived to the hotel in the midst of the storm, half frozen and tired from our journey. A kind faced man welcomed us with open arms, his assisted us through the checking in process, making light hearted jokes throughout thus warming our souls. We where directed to the 8th floor and told we could find our room just along the corridor. We pressed the key card against the handle and pushed the door open. The bed was firm and the sheets where clean, the room was heated perfectly. I could feel my bones heating up and the cold leaving my body. When we had warmed up we went downstairs to find the kind faced man had made a buffet but not a regular buffet. A buffet fit for royalty. The food was opulent and delicious, every mouthful was filling my stomach and my heart. We where as full as we could possibly be so we retired to bed. A night of passion ensued, possibly fuelled by the love that the kind faced man had put in the food. This continued for the 3 nights we spent at this hotel of dreams. Thank you all so much.
