Sry this review is long. Just got back from our first family vacation at GWL Gurnee and overall it was a great trip. We were a family of 8, 5adults 3kids, waterpark was great for my toddler and tween niece, my older daughter not so much. First check in and checkout was a breeze adding a person for a day was convenient and the assistant Brinley was very helpful when I needed her. The kid yoga should be longer than 10mins it was suppose to be the activity to keep kids busy before the park opened it did not and there was nothing else going on, suggestion do it for the hour but run it in intervals of 10min IMO.
The Reason for the 3stars
1)my card was charged 490.49 although my confirmation email stated the balance was $484 it s $6 so I didn t think anything of til after the fact.

2) the housekeeping staff need to be better trained or paid more to do a better job. We had the Evergreen suite and it was decent nothing special it slept our family of 9 great with room to spare. Now the cleanliness was another thing our sheets were dirty in one room with makeup like stains and what looked like mold spots. Brinley had new ones sent up (shout out to her for being spot on with my requests via texts) staff could ve changed them instead of just leaving them on the bed for me to do. My parents informed me later that in the other room there was a dirty towel left hanging in the shower. These may be minor issues but it lets me know that they did not clean or at least did a very subpar job n leaves me leary to want to sleep and bathe there.

3)although the staff was attentive, very friendly, and helpful they were not knowledgeable of what was going on we kept getting misinformation about times of things closing/opening.

4)the outpost or the taco bus should be open later if there s going to be late night bowling having to walk upstairs or back to the pizza place is inconvenient in the middle of game.

Overall my baby loved it and we would probably return down the line after they ve gotten into the groove of things. It s the first couple months being operational in a new location so I expect a few snags. Thanks for a great first family trip!
