Kieran Henthorn Review of Beverton Honda

I have taken my '95 Honda Accord that I have owned since February 2012 to Beaverton Honda three times. The first: after driving from Minnesota to Oregon, then across Oregon a couple times, it was time for an oil change. I also needed a new brake light bulb. No problem! They were fast, courteous, and affordable. I was satisfied. The second: new wiper blade. The parts guy made sure I had exactly what I needed at a great price. Satisfied! The third: today, because my girlfriend is now using the car, she took it in for an oil change, with an appointment. She showed up 15 minutes early, and it still took nearly two hours to finish. In addition, she was handed a fun little pamphlet from the "QVI" full all sorts of expensive "Failed" items (front and rear breaks, AT fluid, PS fluid, etc.) and several really, really cheap "Passed" items (windshield washer fluid, tire tread, etc.). Several of the "Failed" items have been addressed by other professionals within the last four months/several thousand miles, and I have no doubt that they are in perfect working order. Not to mention the 138-point inspection performed by a private mechanic in February that revealed some issues (that were fixed), but bore no mention of anything from Beaverton Honda's. That didn't stop the service counter trying to push all $2,380.69 worth of work on my girlfriend, who thankfully said "no, thanks" and left, at just the cost of an oil change. I had thought that Beaverton Honda's service department was above this kind of sneaky BS that gives dealerships all over a bad name. Apparently, I thought wrong. It does not give me confidence in their services, rather makes me feel like I narrowly escaped a shady scam artist. I can only hope that this was an anomaly, as it is a very clean facility with (historically) very friendly and helpful staff. Too bad, I'll be taking my business to a private mechanic in the future.
