I am writing this review on behalf of my husband & I. The Intercontinental at Buckhead should not be considered a luxury destination. We booked for little over a week stay due to us moving into the downtown area. Upon checking in, our luxury bags stayed on the bellman s cart and were outside so long that I personally had to go back down to grab them. Everything was completely completely unattended. The majority of the bellmen doing nothing, but talking amongst theirselves. The car fees are expected $50 each night for upfront parking, the bellmen take awhile to get your keys, approx. 10-15min wait times. Unless you updated to upfront parking like we did.(See more below about valet)
Our room was completely disappointing as well. This property needs to be renovated, reminds me of my grandmother s old 1980-90s styled house.
Even she knows when to get something updated! The furniture is old and stained. The halls smell of marijuana. Housekeeping/GS won t allow you to be in the room with your belongings, or allow in the room period ridiculous for a Five Star hotel that seems silly. (See more about housekeeping below) After our first few days Construction began soon after in the room above us, we called the front desk to question what was going on. They acted completely oblivious to the situation.
Room service the second night made us sick, please avoid it if you can.

The only thing notable here are the views which you can find else where downtown.

Speaking of the STAFF
As much money as we spent here (approx over $2,000) you d think the staff wouldn t be so curt and actually try to be at least a little accommodating especially after tipping WELL! I had an issue where my lovely very well behaved cat had to stay for a few hours, we were charged almost a whopping $1,000 for him to stay. They charged us $100 a night even though he hadn t stayed the duration. Apparently the staff are not pet friendly even though they are allowed through fees.
They literally DO NOT care about you or any situation you have going on.
The payment issue was only slightly resolved (see more below)

Valet:
I came out the room to pick up an order I placed, and noticed our car was not there and we had paid for upfront parking, so I called my significant other to ask him what was going on, and he called valet, valet had lost our car told us they didn t know where it was. The hotel and valet staff are separately employed. So, the hotel staff did nothing.
We ourselves found it parked in their garage an hr later.

Housekeeping:
I hadn t asked a thing from housekeeping the whole week, but when I finally did ask I waited an hr for them to show, and I declined them at that point. The next time I asked for just tissue paper we had been waiting for the entire day.

Upon leaving we were still being charged several unauthorized charges and the only thing the hotel did was take our numbers twice and never call us back.

PLEASE STAY AT THE RITZ OR WALDORF ASTORIA INSTEAD.
I certainly will never be staying here we wasted over $2,000 trying to have an amazing experience. This is a 3-Star hotel at best.
